Cyncly Retail One uses similar screen patterns in many areas. After you learn how to use the left navigation, record lists, and record detail screens, you can use those same skills in other parts of the product.
What you see may change based on your user role, permissions, company setup, record type, or workflow status. You may not see every screen, field, button, action, or tab described in this article.
Use the Left Navigation
The left navigation appears on the left side of the screen. Use it to move between the main areas of Cyncly Retail One.
The options you see depend on your assigned user role and the permissions granted to that role in Account Portal. If you do not see an options, your role may not have access to it.
Understand How Screens Open
Some tasks open as full screens. A full screen replaces the main work area and gives you more room to review, enter, or edit information.
The top of a full screen may show the screen name, workflow name, or open record name. For example, you may see a title such as Projects, Create New Proposal, Edit Sales Order, or the name of an open project.
Some full screens include a back arrow near the top of the screen. Use the back arrow to return to the previous full screen. Starting screens, such as main list screens, usually do not have a back arrow.
Other tasks open in a dialog. A dialog appears on the top of the current screen and usually has its own title, such as Share Proposal or Create New Contact. To leave a dialog without moving forward, select Cancel, Done, or another available button.
Work from Record List
Many Cyncly Retail One screens records in a list.
A record is one saved item, such as a contact, project, proposal, sales order, catalog item, installation, or procurement item.
From a record list, you can usually search, filter, open, and manage records. Examples of screens that use record list include Projects, Proposals, Sales Orders, Contacts, Catalogs, Installations, and Procurement.
Common Parts of a Record List
| Toolbar | Shows buttons you can use in the current screen or record area, such as adding, printing, downloading, sharing, deleting, or updating records. Some buttons are only available after you select one or more records. |
|---|---|
| Search and Filter Tools | Help you narrow the records shown on the screen. These tools may include a search box, Refine Results, saved views, or view settings. |
| Grid | Shows records in rows and columns. Each row is one record. Each column shows one type of information about that record. |
| Checkboxes | Let you select one or more records so you can take an action from the toolbar. |
| Column Headers | Show the column names. Some columns may also let you sort or filter the list. |
| Footer | May show record counts, selected record totals, or page navigation. |
The tools available on each screen may vary based on your role, permissions, and company setup.
Open and Work with Records
To open a record from a list, double-click its row.
The record opens in a full screen or dialog, depending on the area you are using. After the record opens, you can view or edit its details if your role allows it.
Use the available buttons, such as Back, Cancel, Save, Done, or Finish, to leave the record or complete your work. Back and Cancel discard any changes you made, while Save, Done, and Finish save your changes before you leave the screen.
Use Tabs and Sections
Some Records contain may details. To make those details easier to review, Cyncly Retail One may divide the record into tabs or sections.
Tabs let you move between major areas of the same record without returning to the list screen. For example, a proposal may include tabs such as Contact Details, Proposal Details, and Proposal Scope.
Sections group related information together within a record. For example, proposal details may be grouped separately from notes and attachments.
Enter and Review Field Information
A field is were you enter, select, or view one piece of information.
The field label tells you what information belongs in that field.
A required field is marked with an asterisk (*). You must complete required fields before you save, continue, or finish some workflows.
For more information about text fields, dropdowns, checkboxes, date pickers, and other form controls, see Common Field Types and Controls.
Review the Record Summary
Some open records show a summary area near the top or side of the screen. This area gives you important context without requiring you to leave the record.
For example, a proposal or sales order may show the customer name, jobsite address, phone number, and record total.
Sales orders may also show payment information, such as the amount already paid and the remaining balance.
The information shown in the record summary may vary based on the record type, workflow status, permissions, and company setup.
Use Workflow Status
Some records include a workflow status control near the top of the screen. The status shows where the record is in its current workflow, such as New, Draft, Shared, or another status used by your company.
If your role allows it, you may be able to select the status dropdown to change the record status. Some status changes may require a reason, note, or other information before the change can be saved.
Open records may also include record-level actions, such as an Actions menu or other buttons near the top of the screen. These actions let you complete tasks related to the open record.
The statuses and actions available may change based on the record type, workflow status, permissions, and company setup. Record-specific controls are explained in the articles for that record type.
Move Through a Record
Some records are divided into multiple steps instead of one long scrolling screen. This helps you move through information in a guided, logical order.
When a record has multiple steps, use the buttons at the bottom of the screen to move forward, go back, save your work, apply changes, or finish the workflow.
