Change List Columns with View Settings

Use View Settings to control which columns appear in a record list, change their order, and keep important columns visible while you scroll horizontally.

The columns available in View Settings depend on the screen and the information you have permission to see.

Change Which Columns Appear

  1. Select View Settings from the list controls.
  2. Find the column you want to change by scrolling or using the search field.
  3. Click on the toggle to turn a column on to show it in the record list, or turn it off to hide it.
Repeat for any other columns you want to change.

  4. Select Done.

Tips:

  • The record list updates with your changes.
  • To show every column available to you, select Turn All On before selecting Done.
  • The View Settings sidebar shows the number of columns currently shown and the total number available, such as: Columns: 17/20.
  • Each record list includes at least one required column that cannot be hidden. For example, the Contacts list always shows Name, while the Projects list always shows Contact Name.

Review Columns That Are Currently Shown

Select the Only Show Active Columns checkbox to limit the View Settings sidebar to columns that are currently shown in the record list.

This checkbox changes only the column list inside View Settings. It does not change the records or columns shown on the main screen.

Clear the checkbox to return to the full list of available columns.

Change the Column Display Order

  1. Open View Settings.
  2. Find the column you want to move.
  3. Use the drag handle beside the column name to move it to a new position.

  4. Repeat for any other columns you want to rearrange.
  5. Select Done.

The order shown in View Settings determines the column order in the record list.

Freeze Columns

Frozen columns remain visible while you scroll horizontally through a record list. This can help you keep identifying information in view when the list contains more columns than can fit on the screen.

You can freeze up to five columns. The Frozen Columns area shows how many columns are currently frozen, such as 2/5 Frozen.

  3. Columns with a drag handle can be moved into the Frozen Columns area.
  4. Drag the column into Frozen Columns.
  5. Repeat for any other columns you want to freeze.
  6. Select Done.

Save Column Settings for Later

View Settings changes remain available during your current session, but they do not persist after you sign out.

To use the same column setup in a future session, save it as part of a Custom View. A Custom View can save which columns are shown or hidden along with any Refine Results filters you have applied.
